New Features to Please You

July 18, 2007 by adamdoupe

Well, lookie here. Seems as if I’ve got a brand spankin’ new feature that you, the users, have been clamoring for. Well, maybe clamor is the wrong word, more like asked-me-about-it-when-you-emailed-me. Thus, it is born and WootWatchers will forever have two new options:

What are these exciting new checkboxes? Can I sit and click them all day long? Well of course you can, but that would be silly. These are if you only want notifications during a Woot-Off (the first option) or if you never want notifications during a Woot-Off (the second option. Duh.)

Why would you use these?

Well, some people don’t like getting notifications during a woot-off and frequently turn off notifications just for the sacred event. Others are not interested in anything but the infamous Woot-Off. Thus, the two options are so.

How do I use this fantastic invention?

Simple go to your profile and check the option that you want. Then click the “Apply Changes” to make it permanent. And that’s all folks. Enjoy WootWatchers. Oh and feel free to leave comments. I love comments.

WootWatchers has a new home

Well, it’s been quite some time before I’ve updated the official WootWatchers blog, but here it goes. As you can tell, I’ve moved the company blog to WordPress. I figure I’d use real blogging software, not the lame thing I threw together in 10 minutes. So, what’s new at WootWatchers?

Moved to a Joyent Accelerator. This enabled WootWatchers to handle more traffic, and send out your updates in a timely manner. This is causing some problems, such as the lack of updates for about a week and some email issues. I hope to have all of these worked out in the next week or so.

What Are the Plans?

I’m glad you asked, as I have some cool features (that were suggested by y’all) in development for WootWatchers that I plan to finish this summer such as:

  • Enable / Disable notifications during Woot-Offs
  • Black-Out times - Times to not receive a notification
  • Numerous other things that I can’t comment on due to legal issues (This may be a lie)

So stay tuned, and there should be plenty of updates to this blog as I complete features. Till next time, happy Wooting!

P.S. - If you desperately want to view the old blog postings, I’ll leave them up at http://www.wootwatchers.com/blogs/latest.
